Sprint Releases Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean For Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

Sprint Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 users will be happy to know that Sprint has released Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean as an OTA (over the air download).

Sprint says that users will receive an update notification on their Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 over the next few weeks. Once the download is complete, the user will be prompted to install the update. The whole installation should take a few minutes to complete. Once the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is finished updating it will reboot and you'll now be running Jelly Bean on your Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

Users will love the new features that Jelly Bean brings to the table, these include:

  • Google Now, which is similar to Apple's Siri but is more accurate and much quicker at getting the results you ask for. Google Now also has a card feature that provides information before you even need to ask. Just open up Google Now and you'll see how much traffic to expect before you leave for work or when the next train will arrive as you're standing on the platform. Google Now can be accessed by launching the Google app from the app tray.
  • Project Butter was a new feature built into Jelly Bean, it provides users with smooth transitions and an overall faster user experience.
  • Expandable and actionable notifications that allow you to take action right from the notifications panel.
  • Jelly Bean also introduces a new way of making widgets work. As you add a widget to the screen, everything else will move to make room for the widget. If the widget is too big it will automatically resize itself to fit on the screen.

Sprint also notes that the update also provides enhancements and bug fixes. The update also includes a new Qualcomm driver update that will allow the user to automatically connect the recent Wi-Fi connections. Users have been plagued by this bug, but this update has resolved the issue, according to users who have already updated their Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1.
