OnePlus 3T Review: Specs, Comparisons, Prices

OnePlus has released two major flagships this year, the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T. While everyone was already happy with the OnePlus 3, the company still thought that a OnePlus 3T is still a good idea. Well, it looks like that it is. The new phone is a pretty good smartphone that is still in line with OnePlus' goal of releasing a flagship killer device. The OnePlus 3T is affordable, powerful, and an overall good value flagship smartphone.

OnePlus 3T Specs Overview And OnePlus 3 Comparison

The OnePlus 3T is a flagship killer Android that's just priced at around $440. It comes with a 5.5 inch Optic AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and it runs Android Marshmallow from the box. The OnePlus 3T is Android Nougat eligible as well. For the processor, this new OnePlus phone is powered by a Snapdragon 821 chipset. It then has 6 GB RAM and 64/128 GB storage variants.

For the camera department, the OnePlus 3T has a 16 MP rear camera and a 16 MP front camera. It then comes with a 3400 mAh battery and fast-charge abilities. OnePlus' Dash Charge feature can charge the phone 60 percent in 30 minutes.

Basically, the OnePlus 3T's difference with the OnePlus 3 include its processor, front cam, storage variants and battery size. The OnePlus 3 is powered by Snapdragon 820 and it comes with an 8 MP front cam. It is then stuck with one storage variant which is 64 GB and it only has a 3000 mAh battery. The OnePlus 3 isn't exactly a bad deal, the OnePlus 3T is just an improved version with a tad higher price tag.

OnePlus 3T Quick Overview

For a flagship Android deal below $500, the OnePlus 3T is a pretty amazing deal. Tech Radar praises the new OnePlus phone for its great battery life and slick performance that makes it a super affordable flagship release. Sure there are some imperfections like the non-premium display and the lack of a microSD slot. But as a whole, the OnePlus 3T isn't a bad deal for its price. It even offers more than what the similarly priced midrange phones can offer.

Nevertheless, if you already own a OnePlus 3, the OnePlus 3T may not exactly be a clever purchase. The difference between the two is not that big of a deal and the OnePlus 3 is already a superb phone for its $399 price tag. If you own a OnePlus 3, better wait for the OnePlus 4 for an upgrade. Otherwise, if you are just upgrading from an even older smartphone, the OnePlus 3T is a purchase you won't regret.

OnePlus 3T Prices

The OnePlus 3T can be yours for $439 for the 64 GB version. Right now, the only color variant available is the Gunmetal variant and OnePlus says it ships within four weeks. The 128 GB version on the other hand is currently out of stock but it had a $479 price tag when it was unveiled. There is another color variant that was released for the OnePlus 3T which is the Soft Gold but it is unavailable if you purchase now. Additional accessories are also being offered by OnePlus in their website including $24.95 protective cases and $29.95 Dash Car Charger.
