Sony Xperia SP And Xperia L Reveal On March 18 In Moscow?

Sony launched its flagship smartphone Xperia Z at the International CES in January this year and now the Japanese company has announced a press release in Moscow on March 18, when the company is expected to announce entry- and mid-level smartphones.

Sony Mobile was a no-show at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event in February 2013. It was the first time that Sony did not reveal any new Xperia products at MWC since it started selling Android devices. Sony is now expected to launch the Xperia SP (C530X) HuaShan and Xperia L (C210X) Taoshan at the press event in Moscow.

The Xperia L is an affordable entry-level smartphone featuring a 4.3-inch display with 854 x 480 pixels resolution. A 1 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 along with 1GB of RAM powers the handset. The smartphone is equipped with an 8-megapixel Exmor RS camera, 8GB of internal storage with the option to expand using a microSD card. The smartphone will run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Sony Xperia SP (C530X) HuaShan is a mid-level smartphone with a 4.6-inch 720p display. A Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz and 1GB of RAM powers the smartphone. The smartphone is equipped with an 8-megapixel Exmor RS camera. The phone has 16GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot. A 2100 mAh battery fuels the smartphone.

The Xperia SP is also expected to have a waterproof version of the phone with a quad-core Snapdragon processor, a 13-megapixel Exmor RS camera and 2600 mAh battery.

The Xperia L is rumored to cost around EUR 200 ($260) without a contract and the Xperia SP is expected to have a price tag of EUR 300 ($390), with the waterproof version likely to be slightly higher.

We will have to wait till March 18 to find which markets get the Xperia SP and the Xperia L.
