'One Tree Hill' Reboot Not Happening; Original Cast Members Debunk 'OTH' Reboot And Movie Rumors

The new millennium drama series "One Tree Hill" which ended years ago is being speculated to have a reboot and a movie adaptation which are reportedly slated for release in 2017. The recent mini reunion of some of the original cast members of the show at the EyeCon sparked countless rumors about the possibility of bringing back the well-loved CW show.

"One Tree Hill" has been faithfully observing reunions and their get together at the EyeCon in November where Chad Michael Murray and James Lafferty got to bond started rumors about a possible rerun of the renowned drama series. Sophia Bush's reaction towards the "OTH" fans' desire to see the stars back on TV might have fueled the speculations as she said that it is flattering to know that their followers want them to do a reboot.

Fans, however, have misunderstood her statement looking only at the positive signs while neglecting her claim that it will be impossible for the show to create a revival. Bush, when asked for her opinion about making a revival of "One Tree Hill," said that she does not see herself coming back to the show to reprise her role for another full episode season. The 34 year-old star is currently busy with her lead role project with "Chicago PD" which is currently on its fourth season. She also said that "One Tree Hill" ended perfectly, giving the characters their happy endings -- most especially her character -- that is why she does not see any reason for the show to revisit the lives of Brooke, Julian, Haley, Nathan, Mouth and the rest of the "OTH" regulars.

Other stars of "One Tree Hill" like Stephen Colletti (Chase Adams) also reacted to the spiraling rumors pinning the same claim as Bush's. They said that bringing back "OTH" or continuing the story will destroy the legacy of the show which already indicated what the characters will be facing for the rest of their lives. "One Tree Hill" ended in 2012 after nine seasons satisfying the viewers' desires of seeing their favorite characters ending with good careers, love lives, and bright future. Putting another story to its 2012 finale then would be difficult as the series might have to look for another twist that might alter what was strongly imposed in the "OTH" season 9 finale.

Apart from the clear ending of the series, the main cast members of "One Tree Hill" are also currently busy with their own projects leaving them with zero time for another "OTH" project. Also, the production team of the series does not have intentions of bringing back the series and reunions are the only activities that "One Tree Hill" may have in the next years.

Fans of the coming-to-age drama series then have to lower their expectations as it is nearly impossible to see "One Tree Hill" back on TV.
