Final Fantasy XIV Guide: All Modes, Quests, And Trials In The New Expansion

Square Enix announced earlier in October that they are going to release the expansion for Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood. They finally confirmed its release date during the weekend as well as information what players will expect with the upcoming update.

According to Square Enix, Final Fantasy XIV will have a Collector's Edition which will include a lot of amazing items for fans who will purchase them. These items include an exclusive high-quality Zenos figure, a special package with Yoshitaka Amano's original art, a Stormblood artbook, a cloth map of Eorzea, and an original decal.

There are also several exclusive items included in-game, such as the Syidra Mount, the Red Mage Main Arm: Chicken Knife, and the Wind-up Bartz Minion. Square also revealed that the Red Mage is not associated with any class.

The Red Mage is the new addition to Stomblood where players can use rapiers and a mixture of various magic crystal mediums. These two weapons can be used for melee attacks and range attacks respectively. The Red Mage fighting style is a combination of both hybrid range and melee style which can be achieved through high-positioning. You can increase its massive damage combine and link different spells using chainspell and using melee attacks for your follow-up.

Aside from the Red Mage, there will also be a new beast tribe called the Ananta, which are all females and live in the Ala Mhigo mountains. The Anantas are known for their spell and gem crafting in the region. However, they have been oppressed by the Garleans.

There are also two new raids: The Bend of Time – Omega and Return to Ivalice. The Bend of Time - Omega raid will feature the monster called Omega which is believed to be held in captivity by Bahamut. According to Allagan literature, Omega is deeply buried under the Carteneau Flats.

Meanwhile, Return to Ivalice is being developed by a Final Fantasy vet, Yasumi Matsuno, whose works were first seen in Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy XII. While Matsuno works on the storyline and scenario of the game, Keita Amemiya will help him with the illustrations.
