Death Stranding's Guillermo del Toro Has Some Harsh Words For Konami

Guillermo del Toro is probably best known for his work on cult movies like "Pan's Labyrinth" and the "Hellboy" franchise, and now he's currently working in collaboration with celebrity game designer Hideo Kojima for the game Death Stranding. The holiday season had del Toro commenting on Kojima's former game company, Konami, and he had this to say: "F*** Konami."

The message was posted by del Toro on his Twitter account, where he wrote: "Important Holiday messages that right true today as they always have: Feliz Navidad. Happy Holidays. F*** Konami." Del Toro then followed it up with a comment that said, "I meant ring, sorry- still, F*** 'em."

Gamespot has pointed out that this is not the first time that del Toro has spoken out about his bad relationship with the game company. He was reportedly working with Kojima on an upcoming Silent Hills game before Konami decided to cancel the project. Both del Toro and Kojima have since moved on and are now working on Death Stranding with Kojima's independent studio, Kojima Productions.

As of now, there is still no assurance as to the level of involvement del Toro has in Death Stranding, but he was clearly used as one of the models in the trailer that was released during The Game Awards this month. Del Toro has said last year that he was "never again" getting involved with video games after his past two video game projects have lead the first company (THQ) to go broke and Kojima leaving Konami.

Maybe this time around, del Toro has had a change of heart and is actively involved in the development of Death Stranding. No official plot has been released for the game, but "The Walking Dead's" Norman Reedus is said to be the model of the game's central character and "Star Wars: Rogue One's" Mads Mikkelsen will play the main antagonist.

No official release date has been announced for Death Stranding.
