With the recent Winter Update, players are now scrambling to farm their way to max TH10 as Supercell just gave its community a hefty price cuts on most of its troop and building upgrades. With the significant reduction of the heroes' upgrade cost, most of the players find it hard to farm Dark Elixir especially with a down Archer Queen as you can no longer use the Queen Walk strategy. But fear not as there are effective ways to farm Dark Elixir despite having all of your Heroes under upgrade.

Clash of Clans Guide: Dark Elixir Farming

Heroes play a vital role in farming Dark Elixir as most of the time, the DE storage and collectors are situated at the center of the map or in most cases, being heavily guarded by traps and defensive buildings. So how do you exactly penetrate a full TH10 and TH11 with your heroes down? Well the answer is, you don't!

The best way to farm Dark Elixir in the current meta is to use the recently tweaked Balloons! And so in this guide, we will be focusing in using loons as the main siege troops to break the enemy's defenses. For this guide to work, you need to have the following troops:
Lava Hound
Balloons
Minions
Baby Dragon

Now for the quantities, preferable, you'd want to have at least 24 Balloons, 3 Lava Hounds and 1-2 Baby Dragons. The rest of the space will be for the Minions. For the spells, it's great to have 3-4 Rage, 1 Freeze, Haste and Poison. You'd want to eradicate the enemy's CC troops as quickly as possible.

Strategy

This army is pretty straight forward, deploy the bulk of the troops to the area nearest to the DE storage and collectors. Use Balloons to take out defensive buildings and tunnel your siege troops straight into the enemy's DE. Since you're down with all of your heroes, you'd have to rely on your Minions and Baby Dragon to destroy the DE storage and collectors. This is why you'd want to have as much rage as possible as your priority is to get at least 1 star and the yummy Dark Elixirs.
