Final Fantasy XV Owes Backlash To 'Highly Disorganized' Development Team; Former Character Designer Reveals

In the wake of the backlash that Square Enix has been receiving for Final Fantasy XV, character designer Roberto Ferrari put the blame on the development team behind the open world action role-playing video game saying it is "highly disorganized."

Final Fantasy XV Backlash

Both critics and players have expressed disappointment over what Final Fantasy XV offered on the table since it was first released last November. For one, the game which Square Enix boasted to be in the development for 10 years has been considered by many as half-baked. Considering the decade-long process the game went through, players said that Final Fantasy XV should be as much seamless as possible.

Critics on the other hand said that Square Enix could have released the game in 2017 to iron kinks out. The development team of the game knows its problems already even before players have reported them. In fact, they admitted it.

Final Fantasy XV Development Team "Highly Disorganized"

Amid all these revelations and criticisms, Final Fantasy XV character designer Roberto Ferrari has spoken. In his Facebook page, he shed light on issues bombarding the game saying, "They're highly disorganized. Our staff had to work on FFXV while the story still had to be finalized. In 2013, the damn story changed every three months or so and the game's release date had been scheduled for December 2014."

Ferrari, who's no longer with the game's development team, revealed that some characters he made were ditched from the story while some others were redesigned, including Gentiana and Umbra.

Original Final Fantasy XV Concept

In a previous report, it was revealed that some interesting details were ditched last-minute. First, the game's original concept was to include a multiplayer mode, but it was excluded in the process. Second, final boss fight with Ardyn was cut so short. According to recent leaks, the battle ends so sooner than it should have been. Third, Luna was supposedly be one of the playable characters in this installment but due to gender issues surrounding the game, she was moved out of the roster.

Overall, Final Fantasy XV is still deemed by critics as the best Final Fantasy installment.
