Resident Evil 7 Update: Game Creator Explains Why The Game Adopts A First-Person Perspective

One of the most expected game titles for 2017 is Resident Evil 7. This horror game is said to offer many horrifying and terrifying mysteries that players are going to take part of. For those who have already experienced playing the demo, they are already aware of the impressive gameplay outlook that Resident Evil 7 will bring into the series. Additionally, the game has a lot of surprises for their fans.

Out of the many remarkable features of Resident Evil 7 is that it allows the player to switch from third-person to first-person point-of-view. This change that the developers made is of intentional nature, and Capcom is keeping its hope in giving its players further first-hand experience. Masachika Kawata, Resident Evil 7 producer, had identified their valuable reasons for this switch.

In a recent interview, Kawata said that they have taken their focus on horror, thus they have decided to have a first-person perspective for players to be able to take on the experience to a greater level.

This development also comes with it the opportunity for players to have a good view with the game's character. Should there be drawbacks related to this change, it might just be negligible since the game has been made to be more frightening and compelling. Although the first-person perspective might only give the player a limited viewing angle. Kawata further explained about the personal connection that the developer would want for its players to experience, according to Game Rant.

A more personal connection will be experienced by the player once he will take on as the game's main character. This will offer the player a great survival horror experience, which will be enhanced through virtual reality experience. It was also revealed that Resident Evil 7 will be even available through PlayStation VR which will complete the immense first-person experience of the player.
