Rogers Motorola RAZR To Receive Jelly Bean Update

Motorola launched the RAZR XT910 handset in October 2011 and now the Rogers version is getting the Jelly Bean 4.1 software update.

"Rogers released the new Motorola RAZR way back in November of 2011 with Android OS 2.3.5. According to the OS Upgrades schedule on the Rogers site it reveals that RAZR owners will be finally receiving an upgrade to Jelly Bean (4.1.2) sometime 'Late April.' Of course, the fine details says the release dates are subject to change," reports Mobile Syrup.

Google released the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in July 2012 and Nexus 7 was the first device to run on the software. Later on, Google started releasing the software update to various smartphones and tablets. The software update brings various enhancements and bug fixes. The update brings "Project Butter" to the device, which provides a smoother user interface.

A software update is expected to bring enhancements and improvements to devices; however, some updates don't go as planned and after updating, many consumers think that they should have not opted for a software update.

U.S. carrier AT&T recently released Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update to Motorola Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR MAXX HD. The update was supposed to bring enhancements to both devices; however, many users are reporting problems after they installed the software update.

"My camera refuses to work, it keeps saying 'camera is unable to initialize.' I've done everything from clearing the cashe, stopping the function, disabling it, reseting the phone, to hard reseting the phone, and wiping everything out, still to no avail, please fix this," complained a user on iTech Post after installing Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update on a Motorola handset.

Currently, neither Google nor Motorola has addressed the issue related to the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean software update issue on Motorola Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR MAXX HD.
