Xbox One News: New Controllers Colors, Backwards Compatibility Update, Cancelled Games And The New 'Battlefield'

There are a few recent news from the Xbox One front and it involves new controllers, new games and a cancelled one.

New Controllers

Microsoft has come up with two new colors for the Xbox controllers to make one's gaming experience even better even if the two are as simple as it gets especially if compared with last year's Shadow controllers. The first one is an all-red number utilizing two tones with the buttons being transparent to show the letters inside.

The second new controller color is the green and orange ensemble. Despite having two colors, this controller is still rather simple. The body, buttons and sticks are garbed in dark olive green color while the orange part are located beneath the sticks and acts to accent them.

Backwards Compatibility Update

Seven new games from the Xbox 360 are now playable on the Xbox One. The games recently added to the backward compatibility library are:

  • Battlefield 2: Bad Company 2
  • Battlefield 3
  • Dragon Ace Origins
  • Ghostbusters
  • Scrap Metal
  • Strania
  • The Splatters

The biggest games to become backward compatible with the Xbox One are the Battlefield game titles moreso "Battlefield2: Bad Company 2". The game was released in 2010 and has become some kind of cult favorite even after four more titles in the franchise came after it. "Bad Company" started out as a game for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

They join "Red Dead Redemption", "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion", "Bioshock" trilogy, and "Mass Effect: trilogy", and a number of other games that were added last year.

Scalebound

Platinum Games will no longer make the RPG game "Scalebound" for Microsoft. This means Xbox owners will never get to play the much-anticipated game.

"Scalebound" has been in development for four years now before the two companies decided to end their partnership.
