Galaxy Note 2 Update To Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Guide: AOKP JB-MR1 Build 6

There's no doubt the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is one of the great mobile devices on the scene right now. For those interested in updating their Note 2 from Android 4.1.2 to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, now you can, with the latest custom release by Android Open Kang Project team.

The AOKP JB-MR1 Build 6 not only grants an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 along with various new customized features, but also a fix for the Note 2's S Pen.

Before starting, please again remember this build is in its development stages and bugs may occur. Also, please make sure to do the following before starting installation:

* Install Samsung Galaxy Note 2 USB driver on your computer

* Make sure the USB Debugging Mode is enabled to connect the phone with the computer; use Android SDK with it

* Backup all device data

* Make sure your Galaxy Note 2 is rooted; have ClockworkMod (CWM) recovery installed

* The Note 2 should be factory unlocked.

* Ensure you have above 80 percent battery charge 

* The AOKP Build 6 ROM only works on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100. Using other models could brick the device.

Now you can install the Android 4.2.2 AOKP JB-MR1 Build 6 on your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100

One: Download Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean AOKP JB-MR1 AOKP Build 6 for Galaxy Note 2 to your computer

Two: Download Google Apps package

Three: Connect your Galaxy Note 2 to your computer via USB cable

Four: Copy both downloaded zip files to the SD card of your Note 2. Make sure the files are in the SD card root but not in any folder

Five: Disconnect the Note 2 from your computer

Six: Turn it off   

Seven: Turn the Note 2 on while pressing and holding Volume Up, Home and Power buttons together in order to boot the Note 2 into Recovery Mode

Eight: Once you're in CWM Recovery Mode, execute full data wiping task by choosing "wipe data/factory reset"

Nine: Next, choose "wipe cache partition" in order to execute cache wipe

Ten: Execute dalvik cache wipe: While in CWM Recovery, go to "advanced" and choose "wipe dalvik cache"

Eleven: When you're done with this, navigate to main recovery menu and scroll down to "flash zip from Sdcard"

Twelve: Press Power button to choose this

Thirteen: Select "choose zip from sdcard"

Thirteen: Employing the Volume keys, go to the Jelly Bean ROM zip file which was copied to the SD card

Fourteen: Press Power button to select it and confirm installation on the next screen

Fifteen: The ROM installation will now start

Sixteen: Now that the  ROM is installed, follow the same procedure to install Google Apps package

Seventeen: Once you've completed installation, go to "+++++Go Back+++++" and reboot the Note by choosing "reboot system now" from the main recovery menu.

Eighteen: Be patient as you await the device to successfully boot up
