Couples may soon be able to control the sex of their baby even weeks before gravidity. Latest pregnancy tips 2017 come from a new study signifying women can use their blood pressure as an accurate way to forecast their baby's sex.

Canadian researchers discover high systolic blood pressure may lead to boys and lower may result in girls. The team also advises it could allow couples to manage the sex of their expected babies.

Earlier studies also showed war and other tense events affect the number of boys and girls in certain areas. Researchers believe more baby boys arrive throughout such events as the moms suffer stress and the fetuses fight to survive.

The team followed the partakers for 26 weeks prior to pregnancy. They considered aspects such as age, education, smoking, body mass index, cholesterol, triglycerides, and glucose.

"[The study] advocates that a woman's blood pressure before pregnancy is a beforehand unrecognized factor that is linked with her possibility of delivering a boy or a girl," lead researcher Ravi Retnakaran, from Mount Sinai Hospital, said in a report.

He also suggests their findings may help progress family planning approaches. Moreover, as a tip, by monitoring blood pressure, it's also possible to "achieve" the gender of the baby. "This novel understanding may hold implications for both procreative planning and our thoughtful of the fundamental instruments underlying the sex ratio in humans," Retnakaran said.

The findings could help small societies with gender fondness, mostly targeting to achieve boys. However, the study published in the American Journal of Hypertension did not confer the potential of this method.
