TELUS And Bell To Release Samsung Galaxy Rugby III On April 9

When the name of Samsung comes into the smartphone space we think of the big guns like the Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 2 and more. However, there are many handsets smartphone users want for frequent outdoor use, like the Galaxy Rugby III, and now Canadian carriers TELUS and Bell will offer the device beginning April 9.

The Galaxy Rugby III is a flip phone and it attracts customers looking for rugged military-style resilience in a handset.

The Galaxy Rugby III is already available on Rogers and you can also find the handset on TELUS and Bell from April 9 onward. Rogers is offering the handset fpr $299.99 outright or $79.99 on a two-year contract. Bell will have the push-to-talk (PTT) capabilities enabled for the Galaxy Rugby III priced at $249.95 outright. TELUS' version of the handset will be a bit cheaper at $230 outright, or $79.99 on a three-year contract.

The fifth-generation Rugby series handset, which is also IP 67 certified, can survive all kinds of torture, including drops and shock, all the while being highly resistant to water and dust damage.

The Galaxy Rugby III sports a 2.4-inch display with 240 x 320 pixels resolution. The handset also has a 3-megapixel camera. A 1300 mAh battery powers the device. The flip phone measures 4.1 x 2.1 x 0.8 inches and weighs 4.70 ounces.

There is a dedicated Push-To-Talk (PTT) button on the handset's side for convenience. The PTT service commonly does not use up the regular airtime minutes that are available for general voice calls, so you can save some valuable minutes when outdoors. The handset also features noise suppression technology, allowing you to use it in any environment.

The Galaxy Rugby III is designed for those customers who ideally need to stay connected with a dependable device that is tough enough to take anywhere.

Will you buy the handset if you are looking to buy an outdoor phone?
