With every automaker in the industry stepping up their game in the SUV segment, GMC is also doing the same with its 2017 Acadia. This time however, it is aiming to become one of the top sellers and it is ready to prove itself as a serious contender.

2017 GMC Acadia: New Powertrain And Fuel Economy

The 2017 GMC Acadia is offered with two options for its powertrain. According to report, new model is equipped with a more powerful 3.6-liter V6 engine. The previous model had 281 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque while the new one is capable of putting out 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. This is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with a standard front wheel drive (FWD) setting and an optional configuration for an all-wheel drive (AWD). The other engine is a first time 2.5-liter four-cylinder that delivers 193 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque, which has been set to be its new standard powertrain.

As far as the fuel economy goes, the 2017 GMC Acadia has also improved compared to the previous model that can only go 15 and 22 miles per gallon in the city and on the highway. With a V6 engine, it can now go 18 and 25 miles per gallon while the four-cylinder engine can go 21 and 26 miles per gallon in the city and on the highway respectively.

According to report, the 2017 GMC Acadia has been made shorter and lighter and this is good in terms of driving performance. One of the most common problems of bigger vehicles is maneuverability but things are different with the 2017 GMC Acadia. Compared to the previous models, the 2017 GMC Acadia has better handling and more responsive steering than the previous model. In addition, it can also handle bumpy roads better and with its AWD, you can also drive in winter conditions with ease.

2017 GMC Acadia: Riding Comfort

The 2017 GMC Acadia is a family oriented SUV that is capable of providing comfortable seats for five to seven passengers. There is ample legroom for comfort and maneuvering through the cabin will not give you a hard time. One of the best things about the 2017 GMC Acadia is that everything has been kept simple. Therefore, you no longer have to read any instruction manual to figure out how things work unlike in most modern vehicles in the market.

2017 GMC Acadia: Trims And Prices

The 2017 GMC Acadia is available in six trims from the base SL followed by SLE-1, SLE-2, SLT-1, SLT-2 and the top trim Denali. Reports state that the price tag starts at $30,000, $33,400, $35,375, $39,300, $42,700 and $45,850 respectively. In addition, an all-terrain model is also available with a price tag of about $40,000 according to report.
