Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Update Now Available For Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini In U.S.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 mini, first announced in October 2012 and released in November 2012, will finally receive its Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update in the U.S.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 mini has also seen some strange name changes recently, with the T-Mobile version being called the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit and the U.S. Cellular variant being called the Samsung Galaxy Axiom. It is the Samsung Galaxy Axiom variant of the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini that is finally seeing an Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update being rolled out.

"Jelly Bean for the Galaxy Axiom has been issued as an OTA (over-the-air) update or is available through Samsung Kies but similarly to the Galaxy S3 update to 4.1.2 in the U.S. the update lacks Samsung's Premium Suite, which may disappoint some," Phones Review says.

"However there are plenty of other improvements and changes to make this update well worthwhile, such as Google Now, Project Butter, improved browser, multitasking and more, so we'd urge readers to go ahead with the update to receive these advantages."

If you have a Samsung Galaxy S3 mini Axiom variant, and would like to see if you've gotten your Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean rolling out on your phone already, just go to "Settings" to see. Make sure you're connected to Wi-Fi, as it's a pretty big update and you don't want any problems while integrating it.

Samsung Galaxy S3 mini Exhibit T-Mobile variant owners will still apparently have to wait, Phone Reviews suggests, for their Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update, but as the Axiom variant has now received it, you probably won't be waiting long.

"Along with the smoother graphical interface, users will also be able to user Google Now with the phone," Gadget Gestures says about the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini Axiom variant Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update. "This upgraded version of the stock browser includes Calendar features, great widgets, added applications and the power to do multitasking jobs. Basically, the upgrade allows better features and added software programs for the device."
