Following the success of the 7-inch Nexus 7, Google also released the bigger 10.1-inch Nexus 10 in November 2012. The Nexus 10, made in collaboration with Samsung, is now getting an official Book Cover, which can be bought directly from the Google Play Store.

The Google Play Store also indicates that the Nexus 10 Book Cover measures 10 x 7 inches and weighs 2.39 ounces. The cover is available in dark gray and scarlet color options and has a price tag of $30.

It's been about five months since the release of Nexus 10. And it's been frustrating for Nexus 10 owners that accessories for the tablet did not come out alongside the device. The Book Cover is the first accessory for the Nexus 10.

There is an ovoid plastic plate at the back of the Nexus 10, which normally serves no purpose, but you can remove that plate and replace it with the Book Cover that attaches directly to the tablet and folds over to protect the screen.

The Nexus 10 Book Cover attaches to the back of the tablet, offering a bit of protection to the 10-inch body, which is very similar to Apple's iPad cover and Samsung's Flip cover.
