Hi-Rez Studios announced the patch preview of Paladins Open Beta 42 update last week. Following the announcement, it has been uploaded and tested by some of the players on the game's Public Test Server. However, currently, it has officially arrived and uploaded on Paladins Live server. The OB42 patch highlights the new frontline champion named Torvald "Runic Sage." In addition, the previously leaked Code Green Viktor skin is also added.
Meanwhile, the official patch notes of the OB42 update was uploaded earlier on the Official Paladins Forum. The highlights of the patch notes include Torvald's abilities and cards. Additionally, Code Green Viktor collection was bundled in one chest which costs 100 crystals. The Code Green Chest consists of four Head, four Body, four Weapon, 2 MVP Poses, 2 Sprays and 1 Emote, while the Code Green Voice Pack can be purchasable separately with 50 Crystals.
On the other hand, Pip receives a new Weapon Skin called Rooster Brewster which costs 250 Crystals. The new Weapon Skin will cause a visual update especially on Pip's ultimate called Evil Mojo. Pip can now turn his enemies into giant roosters instead of cute little chicken when the Rooster Brewster Weapon Skin is equipped. As reported, this weapon skin is dedicated to the upcoming Chinese New Year.
Open Beta 42 patch now also includes the new PVE Queue called Tank it to the Limit. The PVE encounters will be queued from the casual queue option. In addition, it will also give full match rewards. On the other note, the item Aggression was temporarily removed from the game, while Life Rip and Rejuvenate price was reduced from 400 to 300 and 300 to 200, respectively.
Aside from the new in-game additions and changes made to the game, the newest Paladins patch also covers several bug fixes and minor upgrades on the previous issues encountered by the players such as the stocked Friends Forever achievement, countdown timer still running while paused, emotes locking input while on mount and more.
