Recently, we reported that various Canadian carriers have started to take pre-registration of the latest Samsung Galaxy S4 and now Rogers and Fido have also started to pre-book the smartphone so that you get the handset on the launch day.
The pre-registration of your Samsung Galaxy S4 on a carrier does not mean you can pre-order the Galaxy S4 but it means that you will get updates regarding availability, pricing and more. However, if you pre-order the Galaxy S4, then you get priority over others and can lay your hands on the smartphone just when the carrier releases it.
Samsung announced that the Galaxy S4 will launch on almost all the Canadian carriers including Bell, Eastlink, Fido, Koodo, Mobilicity, Rogers, SaskTel, TELUS, Videotron, Virgin Mobile and Wind Mobile and their authorized channels. The expected release of the Galaxy S4 is by the end of April this year but release dates on carriers may vary. Moreover, the confirmed release date of the handset still remains in the dark.
So far the pre-booking of the Galaxy S4 is only available for existing customers and you'll have to put a deposit of $40 down to secure your device. The Galaxy S4 will be available in various internal storage options but Rogers is currently taking pre-orders for the 16GB variant of the phone only.
Samsung initially launched the Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2 in two color options and later on introduced more colors. Keeping on with the tradition, the Galaxy S4 is initially launching in two colors: Black Mist and White Frost.
Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy S4 will release in both 3G and 4G LTE-ready versions. Samsung's next flagship smartphone will be available in a 1.6GHz Exynos octa-core CPU or a 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600. The Canadian version of the handset may also have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor.
Neither Rogers nor Fido have hinted at a price for the Galaxy S4 but with the device being a top-end phone, you can expect to splash anything in the range of $199 to $299 on a three-year contract.
