Recently, we have seen a slew of smartphones hit the shelves and many more handsets are expected to release soon. To make room for newer handsets, carriers have to stop stocking older or less popular versions and now Canadian carrier Rogers will discontinue selling the Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE, Samsung Galaxy Note, HTC One and more.

Rogers has added many new smartphones to its portfolio of handsets. According to a recent report, the carrier will stop carrying HTC One X, Samsung Galaxy S2, Samsung GALAXY Note, Sony Xperia T, HTC Desire C, LG Optimus L7, Samsung Galaxy S3 (32GB) and the BlackBerry Curve 9360. These handsets appear on Rogers' EOL list. The EOL list, or End of Life list, is where carriers put the devices whose inventory won't be or can't be replenished.

Rogers has already announced top-end smartphones like the Sony Xperia ZL at a price tag of $149.99 on a three-year contract. The Xperia ZL is the most compact 5-inch FHD phone that you can buy on the carrier. Moreover, the carrier will also bring the latest HTC One, priced at $149.99 and the highly-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S4, priced at $199.99, both on a three-year contract soon. Rogers will also offer the the QWERTY-enabled BlackBerry Q10 priced at $199.99 with a signed three-year contract.

Rogers Wireless is one of the biggest and most popular wireless telecommunications providers in Canada, offering mobile phone and data services throughout the country, using Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM), Universal Mobile Telecommunications System with High Speed Packet Access (UMTS/HSPA) and 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology.

All the phones which appear on Rogers' EOL list have served their time, and their successors are already available on the market. The EOL list may also point toward a refreshed and a bigger smartphone line-up on the carrier. Which new devices will you want to see at Rogers?
