Daft Punk's Random Access Memories: Pharrell Talks Working On 'Get Lucky' With Creators Project (VIDEO)

Singer and producer Pharrell talked about meeting and working with Daft Punk on their upcoming album on The Creator's Project series, episode 4. Over the weekend a video teaser was released off Daft Punk's anticipated summer album, Random Access Memories. It debuted in the form of a trailer at the Coachella 2013 music festival on Friday during a concert. The trailer also ran as an ad during the broadcast of Saturday Night Live.

Get Lucky is the name of the track from Daft Punk's upcoming album and features Pharrell on lead vocals, with former member of the band Chic, Nile Rodgers, on guitar. Get Lucky has a disco feel to it and the trailer features elements of the popular music genre introduced during the mid-1970s.

The track includes the lyrics "We're up all night till the sun / We're up all night to get some / We're up all night for good fun / We're up all night to get lucky."

Pharrell explains how he met Daft Punk or "the robots," as he calls them and how they all began working together in a behind-the-scenes special about the Random Access Memories album.

"The Robots' music is the power to separate itself from all else that it exists. They're not bound by time and space," Pharrell said during the Creators Project series.

He went on to detail how he met Daft Punk and how he was eager to work with them.

"I met the robots at a Madonna party and they were just like, 'we're doing something.' I said, 'whatever you guys need, I'll do it. I'll play tambourine. It seems like the only click-track they had was the human heartbeat. And that's what makes it really interesting, because these are robots," Pharrell said.

The long-awaited follow-up album to Human After All from the electronic music duo from France, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo is set to release May 21 on Columbia Records. Random Access Memories is currently available for pre-order on iTunes.

"A 6-year-old can enjoy this album like a 33-year-old. It's like a 66-year-old, because it is music," Pharrell said about the album. Check out a preview of the track and the Pharrell interview below.
