BLU Vivo 4.3 Gets Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update, New Colors

The BLU Vivo 4.3 may just be one of the best smartphones you probably haven't heard of and now the device has gotten even better with a long-awaited Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update.

Features of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update include richer notifications, optimized voice recognition, improved search and Google Now.

On top of the Jelly Bean update, the BLU device is getting a number of new color options. Previously only available in black, the phone will now come in Pearl White, Glimmer Pink and Energy Neon Yellow.

"We are committed to providing our customers stunning fashionable design and flagship performance," CEO of BLU Products Samuel Ohev-Zion said in a press release. "With these exciting and stylish new colors, our customers can stand out from the ordinary devices available in the market today, and they can also be sure that we are keeping our promise by regularly providing latest software updates on all our Android devices."

BLU releases products that are high in capability but low on price and the Vivo 4.3 is no exception. When the device was launched in 2012, it was praised as the first dual SIM smartphone that also had a dual core processor and a Super AMOLED Plus display. The phone comes with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen display with a 480 x 800 resolution. It is powered by a dual core Media Tek MT6577 processor at 1GHz.

The Vivo 4.3 comes with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of on-board storage expandable by an extra 32GB through a microSD card. Additional features include an 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera and 1,600 mAh battery.

Just last month BLU revealed its new Life smartphone series. In the future the company will provide stock Android for all new devices and firmware upgrades for improved battery life and a streamlined user interface.
