2015 saw the release of Bethesda's Fallout 4, but it looks like a new Fallout game is in the works and it might be Fallout: New Vegas 2. Are fans ready for another trip into the wasteland?

New Orleans Or New Vegas 2?

According to Frag Hero, there had been reports on a game called Fallout: New Orleans years ago, but it may turn out to be New Vegas 2. What's more interesting is, the lead writer for Obsidian has been adding up some hype on Twitter, saying that his "always up for working on Fallout," and that it's a fun property to work with.

From a business standpoint, it would be a smart decision for Obsidian to work on another Fallout game. Back when New Vegas came out in 2011, it received a lot of praise from critics and even got the 2011 Golden Joystick for Best RPG. The game sold almost 12 million copies, and it's high time that players got a new Fallout game.

Screen Rant speculates that the name New Vegas 2 could be a possible placeholder for whatever Obsidian is working on. Every game in the Fallout franchise had players visiting other places in the wasteland, so if this next game will have players returning to New Vegas, it would be the first Fallout title to do so.

With Fallout: New Vegas using Fallout 3 as its base game, it's quite possible that this new installment will be based on Bethesda's Fallout 4.With some people considering New Vegas as an improvement on its predecessor, it's a wonder what kind of Fallout game Obsidian has under its sleeve.

When Can We Expect A Reveal?

According to sources, fans can expect a reveal for Fallout: New Vegas 2 this coming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2017. No official announcement has been confirmed by Obsidian themselves, but hopefully Fallout: New Vegas 2 gets an update this coming June.

E3 2017 is expected to run from June 13 to June 15.
