Honor 6X Goes Through A Series Of Durability Tests, Fails Horribly

The latest Huawei Honor 6X promised to provide users affordable smartphones with advanced features. However, it never did mention anything about its durability, which is one of the users' major concern. Popular YouTuber, JerryRigEverything, has subjected the phone into a series of durability tests and it failed, horribly.

The Scratch Test

Like any other durability test, the Huawei Honor 6X was put into a scratch test. The result concluded that the glass used on the smartphone is prone to scratching. Scratches were seen at the level four hardness, whereas most durable phones start scratching at level six.

It was speculated that Huawei did not use the hardened glass Gorilla Glass, which most other phones use, hence, the disappointing results. The phone has low-quality screen protection and unreliable screen. Scratches were also seen on the back panel of the Honor 6X after the test, as noted by Android Police.

The Pressure Test

The Huawei Honor 6X is seen subjected next to pressure where it easily snaps and breaks. The pressure test or bend test shows that even though the rear metal housing is definitely attached to the body of the smartphone with a few plastics clips, it has no structural support. It can easily crack when the pressure is applied or bended. In addition, the LCD panel is also much prone to breakage when the pressure is applied on the opposite side.

In all fairness to the Honor 6X, it did well on the fire test, although that is not a redeeming result as this is a scenario that is remotely possible to happen in real-world usage, unlike the scratch and pressure tests. As noted, the Honor 6X failed horribly in its durability. It can be an indication that despite the hype, it is still a low-quality phone that is easily destructible. With these results, consumers who opt to buy the Honor 6X need to be extra careful in handling their device.
