Microsoft Has Little Involvement On 'Xbox Scorpio' Graphic Improvements, Depends On Game Developers

The developers of the upcoming VR title "Bebylon Battle Royale" have said that the Xbox Scorpio graphical improvements that players will be witnessing once the super console officially launches are going to be the main responsibility of the developers. Previously, Xbox Head Phil Spencer said that it would be up to the developers themselves to determine how high the game's graphics were.

About The Xbox Scorpio

According to SegmentNext, the Xbox Scorpio has been heavily touted by Microsoft as being a 4K-ready Xbox console that could potentially beat the Playstation 4 Pro graphics-wise. While this is yet to be proven, since the Scorpio isn't scheduled for release until later this year, the specs of the Scorpio have definitely gotten a significantly huge number of people's attention, with Microsoft also touting it to be near a PC in terms of power.

Graphics Depends On Developers

However, the reception of the Scorpio may be more mixed if it is true, and the Xbox Scorpio's graphical improvements on games will be more dependent on the developers than anything else, and how they will allocate the resources of their development for the console.

After all, if games aren't developed to run at 4K resolution or higher, then attempting to make them run in that specific range anyway might just make them look worse than they already normally would. For a game like Bebylon, even if it's not developed specifically for the Xbox One Scorpio, looking worse than it could even break the assumption that virtual reality relies on to work properly.

All Remains To Be Seen

According to VideoGamesRepublic, with the Xbox Scorpio's extreme potential, featuring its six teraflops of processing power, hopefully, the console will have the potential to smoothly run any game that a developer can put on it. For the meantime, we will have to see what sort of graphical improvements developers can thing up on the Xbox Scorpio.
