Dragon Quest 8 Offers Longer And Better Gameplay Than Previous Titles

Dragon Quest 8 is also known as Journey of the Cursed King. This latest installment of the series has a longer story line and better game mechanics than the older titles.

Dragon Quest 8 Remake

The journey of the Cursed King started out as a PS2 game title. Dragon Quest developer Square Enix though has remade it for the Nintendo 3DS. It's basically the same but has some laudable improvements. The most noticeable are the voice acting in the 3DS version. The game boasts of more than 250 monster opponents that were designed by Akira Toriyama, according to the official game site. The Japanese artist is well known for his works in the Dragon Ball series.

Improved Gameplay

The JRPG still employs the turn-based battle system which is not surprising. This feature is still popular to a specific group of gamers. Meanwhile, the voice acting and narrative keeps players entertained and engrossed in the game, according to Game Rant. It will take players more than three days of non-stop playing to finish Dragon Quest 8. The lengthy storyline runs the risk of players getting bored but such is not the case for this 3DS game.

Critics also noticed that players don't have to endure lengthy chatter or setups. Their characters will jump right into the action while players are apprised of the situation. The party of heroes will no doubt encounter an endless stream of enemy monsters. The game though allows players to avoid them and take a breather. Ending a fight quickly is also available using the high-speed feature.

Dragon Quest 8 is currently out now for the Nintendo 3DS. Square Enix is also making sure that the series will attain the same popularity as the Final Fantasy series.
