Samsung Galaxy S4: 10 Million Sold In First Month?

It's pretty safe to say that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will sell even more units than the Samsung Galaxy S3 it's replacing. Each new Samsung Galaxy smartphone keeps reaching the 10 million unit sold level at a quicker rate. The Galaxy S2 took five months to reach the milestone, while the Galaxy S3 took 2 months to achieve this goal; if this trend continues, Samsung could sell 10 million Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphones in its first month of release.

Digitimes is reporting that when the Samsung Galaxy S4 goes on sale at the end of April, it will launch simultaneously in over 50 countries. Sources from Samsung's supply chain have predicted the company will ship 10 million Galaxy S4 units in April.

"Sources predict demand within the first month of the launch will be around 10 million units and 30 million in the second quarter of 2013 as the penetration rate of smartphones continues to grow and Samsung is currently the leading brand. In addition, the Galaxy S4 has better features than the Galaxy S3, hence sales of the product are expected to exceed its predecessor," Digitimes said.

Unlike HTC, who faced delaying its HTC One flagship smartphone over component shortages, sources told Digitimes that Samsung is in complete control over all of its supplies. Samsung makes almost all of its components; it makes the processors, displays, image sensors, and memory that are used in its smartphones. Sources only expect delays if demand exceeds expectations, a situation Apple always seems to run into when it introduces an new iPhone or iPad. Do you think the Galaxy S4 offers enough features over the Galaxy S3 to get it to the 10 million milestone in its first month? Let us know in the comments.
