Horizon Zero Dawn Update: Here Are Some Things To Expect When Playing The Game

Before Horizon: Zero Dawn officially releases this month, learn about some of the features that can help players early in-game. Meanwhile, Guerrilla Games has shared a few new behind-the-scenes videos that reveal the process behind creating such a large-scale game.

According to Mashable, the upcoming open world and post-apocalyptic game has tons of features for players to make the most out of. The concept of mixing the past world with modern mechanics seems amazing on paper and it certainly transfers the feeling of wonder during gameplay. Aside from hunting robot-like dinosaurs, fans can also find a way to make them help the protagonist on her journey.

Early Gameplay Details in Horizon: Zero Dawn

In line with this, Aloy gains an ability early in the story that can 'override' some enemies which turn them into temporary allies. Once in control, they can fight for her and even act as a ride for Aloy to get around the map. Aside from combat, this feature seems like one of the main modes of commuting in the open world.

Next, Aloy can hack other enemies like Tallnecks which give her information about the surrounding area. Moreover, doing this also reveal details about nearby ruins and hunting grounds too. For a better idea of the robot, fans can think of Tallnecks like mobile eagle towers from the Assassins' Creed franchise.

However, gamers should not underestimate these robots as they can easily kill Aloy if she is not careful. Monsters like the Sawtooth are the more hostile creatures that roam the open fields and can hunt the protagonist. Finally, these animal hybrid creatures are not the only threat in the game as players will have to fight humans in certain missions as well. During these moments, it seems like stealth is the best option but Aloy still has access to different types of bombs, arrows and other powerful tools.

Learn More About the Game's History

On a different note, fans can learn more about the game's development via the three videos Guerrilla Games recently released, as per GameZone. Similarly, the game has actually been in development since 2010 and is one of the studio's greatest projects. It is also worth noting that the is the first Action-RPG they have ever made as Guerrilla Games is more known for its first-person shooters like Killzone.

So far, critics have given the game a pretty solid positive response from its various demos. With its unique concept and thrilling gameplay, will this game become one of the PS4's greatest titles? Fans can play Horizon: Zero Dawn on Feb. 27, 2017.
