The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Gets Tons Of New Info Around Initial Gameplay And Overall World

Following the recent information regarding the supporting characters, there has been yet another pile of new information regarding "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." This time, the new tidbits revolve around the initial gameplay details and the dynamic features of the overworld. On a different note, will players be able to find and ride Epona amidst the various horses in the game?

Tons of New "Breath of the Wild" Information

In light of the new gameplay demo, Nintendo Everything has broken down and compiled the new features of "Breath of the Wild." To begin with, the 300 developers assigned to create the overworld were split into small groups to work on certain sections. This specific demo begins at Sarenne Stable with Yammo running the facilities.

In stables, Link can rest in beds to restore his health as well as store horses and meet with various non-playable characters (NPCs) and merchants. The overworld contains a lot of these facilities and each one is run by a different character. For those with enough rupees, they can opt to stay in a more expensive bed that will give one extra heart. It is worth noting that this extra heart is yellow and cannot be recovered in combat.

Moving on, the overworld is dynamic along with the NPCs meaning that if it rains, the people will go inside their houses. In line with this, players will have to be careful during thunderstorms as Link's metal items will attract lightning. Needless to say, he can die via that specific environmental hazard.

That aside, that are over 100 shrines that also act as a fast-travel point. These locations also provide Link with spirit orbs that can be traded for an unknown item. As for wildlife, bears, deer and wolves can move through the snow and can easily overwhelm the player.

As for horses, they will have an affection/loyalty meter that is apparently important. Furthermore, Link can feed and care for them in order to raise their stats. Unfortunately, these animals can be killed by enemies so it is best to watch out for them. In line with this, GameSpot reports that series producer Eiji Aonuma confirmed that the iconic horse, Epona, will be in the game. Even so, he refused to comment on her location or overall role in "Breath of the Wild."

Similarly, Aonuma also claimed that he wants players to have free control over the entire game. Because of this, Link will not have any forms of companion characters. Meanwhile, players can increase their Stamina meter but Nintendo has yet to share how to do it.

Next, different kinds of shields have various usage and level of controls for snowboarding. Players can also mine rocks to use for crafting or sell it for rupees. Each weapon has their own type of animation and "feel" while Zelda can even get mad and scold Link. Nintendo has even added a certain element in the game to make a more "cohesive" storyline. Finally, players can see the ending without finishing the "Breath of the Wild" plot.
