Red Dead Redemption 2 News: Take-Two Confirms Launch Window, Possible Inclusion of Online Features

Publisher Take-Two Interactive has officially confirmed the launch window of their highly-awaited title "Red Dead Redemption 2." The publisher also went into details about potential competition with other titles like GTA Online and their personal marketing strategy.

Official Launch Window of "Red Dead Redemption 2"

According to PlayStation Universe, Take-Two interactive has finally shed some light on more details regarding the sequel of the hit action-adventure game. Beforehand, rumors sprouted that the game would be delayed following a supposed trailer that was to air during the Superbowl. However, the publisher has confirmed that the game will launch in fiscal 2018 between Oct. 1, 2017 and Sept. 2018.

While they did not give an exact release date, the launch window should reassure some fans about any unnecessary delays. In fact, the game has been in development since 2014 and boasts "incredible emotional depth" with the possibility of more than one playable character. Rockstar Games Founder Sam Houser stated that the team is working hard to deliver an "epic experience" stemming from their experience in the gaming industry.

Inclusion of Online Features and Possibility of Conflicts With Other Titles

That aside, GameSpot reports that Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick announced the first game shipped over 8.5 million copies in its first year. In totality, the title shipped around 15 million copies. In spite of the incredible success, he opted not to share any sales predictions for the upcoming sequel.

Even so, he is still excited for the game's potential to sell well and the possibility of an online mode. For this reason, the CEO was asked whether GTA Online would pose a possible competition to the said game's online features. In response to this, he claimed that there will be no conflict with either title as consumers will buy whatever products interest them.

With this in mind, he claimed that the deciding factor for both titles will be their quality. Zelnick added that Rockstar will be the ones releasing finer details regarding the game. Fans will have to wait for further news regarding the official release date of "Red Dead Redemption 2."
