Samsung Galaxy S4: AT&T Email Officially Confirms It Will Ship The Handset 'Earlier Than Originally Expected'

Samsung's Galaxy S4 will soon be making its way to customers and those who pre-ordered the smartphone on AT&T are lucky, as the U.S carrier will be shipping the smartphone earlier than initially estimated.

AT&T subscribers will be able to lay their hands on the Galaxy S4 as early as Thursday, April 25. This news will be welcomed by consumers who purchased the phone on AT&T, as the carrier had promised to deliver the phone by the end of April. However, now it seems AT&T is trying to beat rival carriers Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and Verizon in the race to be the first.

"A spokesperson for AT&T confirmed to CNET Monday that all customers who pre-ordered their 16 GB Galaxy S4 before 9 a.m. ET Monday could receive the smartphone as soon as April 25," reports CNET.

An email sent by AT&T to its customers also confirms that information.

"Thank you for ordering the Samsung Galaxy S4 from AT&T," reads the email. "We are excited to announce that we are able to ship devices earlier than originally expected. Customers who pre-ordered their smartphone early can begin receiving it as soon as April 25th."

Those who haven't ordered the Galaxy S4 yet need not fret, as the AT&T spokesperson also let on that starting Saturday, April 27, customers can purchase the 16GB variant of the smartphone from its brick and mortar stores.

Samsung's flagship smartphone for 2013, Galaxy S4, touts an improved design over its predecessor the Galaxy S3, and packs in a gamut of high-end features like Smart Scroll and Smart Pause. The smartphone also comes pre-loaded with the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

With several carriers slated to launch the smartphone, AT&T will be gunning for dominance and hopes the Galaxy S4 will generate plenty of revenue. However, despite the April 25 release, it seems that T-Mobile could take the lead, as it is expected to release the smartphone on April 24.
