New Video Outlines Different Game Modes For Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch is releasing less than a month away, and marketing for the new console has gone on full blast. A recent video has been posted up by Nintendo, and it showcases all the different game modes possible for the Switch, as well as all the hardware that comes with it.

The video runs for about three minutes, and it gives a full overview on how gamers can enjoy the Nintendo Switch. Game modes include:

TV Mode

This is the more traditional set-up for gaming consoles. Players can dock the Nintendo Switch to their TVs and enjoy games in the comfort of their own home.

Handheld Mode

Here players can take attach the controllers - called joy-cons -to the main dock and take the Switch anywhere they choose to go. It's a very standard mode that players have already been familiar with, what with the PSP and Nintendo's various handheld platforms like the Gameboy and the DS. Nintendo is said to have prioritized the use of Nvidia tech just so that the Switch can perform heavy tasks without taking so much power.

Tabletop Mode

In the tabletop mode, players can mount the Switch's portable screen on a table and play games with the joy-cons detached. What's interesting is that, though the joy-cons can be used as one controller together, they can also be split between to people, making each half an independent controller and allowing portable multiplayer for the Switch.

Other Features

Up to eight Switch devices can be connected via WiFi in order to allow online multiplayer. The Joy-cons also have a ton of amazing features like gyroscope and accelerometer technology which makes for interesting motion-based games for the Switch. Joy-cons also have built-in motion cameras and they can also scan amiibos.

A lot of hype is building on the Switch, and the demand is said to be so high that some retailers have even started canceling pre-orders because the supply can't meet the demand. Hopefully, everyone gets their hands on the Nintendo Switch when it comes out on March 3.
