'Quantico' Season 3 Canceled Due To Low Ratings And Priyanka Chopra's Accident?
"Quantico" is currently plagued by countless cancellation rumors as its ratings slumped into more than half if its first season's performance. Talks are also rife that lead star Priyanka Chopra's recent accident was one of ABC's reason for not renewing the crime drama yet.
It still remains unclear whether "Quantico" will be renewed by ABC for a third season. The slumping ratings and negative reviews of the show are being speculated as prime reasons for the series to be axed by its home network.
"Quantico" season 1 started off with over seven million viewers and finished its run with an average of over eight million followers per episode. The second installment though of the crime drama premiered with disappointing records, as it only gained over three million viewers on its release. The rest of the episodes of "Quantico" season 2 are still being aired with only over two million viewers left to witness the show's adventures.
Writers of the show are seemingly shaking things up in season 2 as they plan to change the course of its timeline. Previously, writer Joshua Safran revealed that "Quantico" season 2, episode 14 will serve as the series' fresh beginning as it will no longer tackle multiple timelines. New followers for the show are then said to enjoy the thriller drama as they can walk right into the story without having to binge watch the previous episodes.
These countermeasures by "Quantico's" executives are believed to save the show from cancellation. ABC though is still tight-lipped about its plan for the show, and rather already renewed several other series under its lineup.
Meanwhile, Chopra answered to the talks about her accident being the reason that ABC has not renewed "Quantico" yet. Reports after her accident said that she only received minor injuries, a reason for her to be back for shooting already during late January. The actress has also assured that she is already doing well, and could work on stunts again. Hence, the show being at risk of being asked might not be due to the actress after all.
While there are no solid answers yet to these cancellation rumors, fans may keep their excitement as is as "Quantico" season 2, episode 12 is about to air on Monday. The said episode will feature the new recruits breaking in the NSA in the past, while the present timeline will show the hostages formulating a dangerous escape plan.
