Tim Cook Auctions Off An Hour Of His Time For No Less Than $180K

Apple's Tim Cook is a not a cheap date. The CEO of tech giant Apple is auctioning off 30 minutes to an hour of his time for charity, with the bidding starting big.

Cook is auctioning off the time via Charitybuzz. The company provides one-on-one interactions and outings with prominent people. All proceeds from Cook's auction go to The RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights. And for just a little one-on-one time with the guy, someone is willing to pay nearly 200 grand.

At least 52 people have placed bids on Tim Cook and the highest tops out at $180,000. There are still 19 days left before bidding is closed, so Cook is likely to surpass the $50,000 he was valued at by Charitybuzz.

The company also has several other auctions with proceeds going to several charities. One of the other auctions netting a good sum is a tour of the SpaceX center in Los Angeles and a meeting with SpaceX founder Elon Musk.

Unfortunately, we'll never know what the winning bidder and Apple's CEO talk about. According to the auction rules on PCMag, "the winner cannot blog, social network, talk to press, write about, take pictures or record during the experience in any way due to security regulations."

And there won't be any leaks about the products Apple will launch in the fall. The winner must sign a non-disclosure agreement. At a quarterly earnings call this week, Apple announced it will introduce several new products this fall. Some experts have debated rumors of a connected TV or some type of smart wristwatch. But the company may just stick to upgrades for its iPhones and iPads.

"Our teams are hard at work on some amazing new hardware, software and services, and we are very excited about the products in our pipeline. We can't wait to introduce (them) this fall and throughout 2014," Cook said at the meeting, according to TechCrunch.
