Facebook Experimenting On Pop-up Posts Notifications

Facebook is said to be experimenting on pop-up posts notifications, which is similar to the chat pop-up notifications. The social media giant is aiming to change the way users utilize the platform. The new feature will keep users interact without having to leave the News Feed interface.

Accessible Notification Window Pop-up

The new feature pushes posts at the bottom edge of the web browser, similar to the chat windows. It opens the comments on the post as notifications, as well as the replies to the comment. The notification pop-up appears if someone may tag the user in a comment.

The latest pop-up notification update is an experimental feature, CNET reported. It was developed based on suggestions from the users who wanted accessible ways to interact and participate in the thread. The new option gives automatic access to response and read comments and tags.

Small Group Experiment

According to Gizbot, the social media giant revealed that the new notification pop-up automatically posts a new text field window to let the users comment. It comes with an option to either hide it or activate it. Users can always hide the conversation within the dropdown menu of the pop-up window.

Facebook revealed that it is only being experimented among a small set of users. The social media giant said that the new feature is an easier way to keep track of time-consuming threads. The company often tests out its new updates with a lesser percentage of its 1.86 billion users. It is said to be a safer criteria method before releasing a new feature.

The new pop-up notification window can also enhance advertising offers, which allows users to spend more time scrolling, reading, liking, commenting and tracking the long thread of interface. Facebook assures its almost two billion users that they will have the preference, if they want to use the feature or not.
