'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' Spoilers: New Planet May Lead To Snoke's Base

At all times, there's a great deal of anticipation when a new planet is announced, and "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" will not upset on that front. A new report discloses details about a new world the fans will get to see this year, which will especially have some significance to the storyline. This article contains minor spoilers about the upcoming film. Readers who do not wish to know about the film are advised to stop here.

The New Planet Details

As per a new report by Making Star Wars, a website that got most of the leaks for "The Force Awakens" right, a source has exposed a new planet in the upcoming film to be like "Mars with snow on it." This planet is said to be "really vital" to the plot of the film. As the name suggests, this is a red planet, like Mars, with the red-colored crust. The ground is covered with snow, resulting in a stimulating color contrast that should be exciting to see on screen. In the outdoor set, there is said to be a trench.

This gives the impression of a planet occupied by the First Order in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." The margins are said to resemble the Star Killer base, in the sense that the Death Star-like construction blends in with the natural rocks and other ecological facades of this new world.

This location is ventured to be the home of Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis). The fans may get to see the new planet when Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson) or Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) report their failure. A "Snowtrooper General" was also reportedly have seen on this set.

Taping at the salt flats in Bolivia is rumored to be a part of this new planet. Though, the report notes that this site could be standing in for another new world in total. The first trailer is scheduled to be released in April in Orlando during the Celebrations event. The same event in 2015 announced the new planet of Jakku, and it appears the fans are in for a similar knowledge this time around.

"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" is to be released on Dec. 15 in Australia. Rian Johnson directed this film and he will be presenting new characters played by Benicio Del Toro and Laura Dern.
