Ooblets, A Cute Game With Farming And Creatures Similar To Pokemon Gets A Publisher

Ooblets is a game being developed by Glumberland, a development team composed of only two people, Rebecca Cordingley and Benjamin Wasser. It's a farming and creature-collecting game and today, the people behind this cute masterpiece announced that Ooblets will be published by Double Fine Productions. The game will be released for PC and Xbox hopefully on 2018.

What Is Ooblets?

Rebecca Cordingley herself said that the game has been likened to Pokemon, Harvest Moon and a little bit of Animal Crossing. In the game, the player will manage a farm, explore mysterious places while searching and catching wild Ooblets to battle other trainers. And just like Pokemon, Ooblets is a turn-based game but focused on team mechanics.

The team mechanics might be due to the different kinds of Ooblets with a variety of abilities involved. Some can dish out quick attacks; others are healers and defense types. If you want to check out their game and you're near San Francisco, Ooblets will be playable on the Day of the Devs GDC arcade in San Francisco.Rebecca Cordingley says she's thankful for the support from the fans and grateful for Double Fine Productions' and Microsoft's interest in their game. "We're going to keep doing what we've been doing, but we now have a lot more support from people who know what they're doing, so we'll hopefully be avoiding a lot of dumb mistakes we were otherwise planning on making."
