Fans of BioWare's action role-playing game Mass Effect 3 will be delighted to learn that they can now grab the PC version for free. Sounds too good to be true? 

Apparently, retailer Newegg is selling Mass Effect 3 for PC for just $10. However, if you purchase the game and follow the mail-in rebate instructions you can be the proud owner of the game and get a $10 prepaid card from Newegg and Visa, which basically means that you ultimately pay $0.

By using the $10 prepaid card, Mass Effect 3 technically becomes free for you. However, the rebate is valid only May 7 and 8, so be quick to take advantage of the deal.

The instructions on how to claim your prepaid card from Newegg are as follows:

Step 1: Purchase Mass Effect 3 for PC from Newegg  "between 05/07/2013 and 05/08/2013 at Newegg.com."

Step 2: Next, go to newegg.rebateaccess.com and key in the promotion number 48010.

Step 3: Fill and print the registration form for the promotion.

Step 4: Remember to cut out and enclose the ORIGINAL UPC code from the product packaging.

Step 5: Enclose a copy of your sales receipt/packing slip which is dated May 7 or 8 and validates the game purchase from Newegg.

Step 6: Mail all the items to the address given on the registration form. To qualify for the rebate, "submission must be postmarked within 30 days of purchase" and reach no later than June 7, 2013.

Remember that this offer cannot be combined with any other deal.
