Kevin Durant Injury Update: Former MVP Might Be Out For The Rest Of The Season

The game last night between the Golden State Warriors and Washington Wizards was very entertaining. The Warriors lost the game but the biggest lost that night was Kevin Durant. The initial report states that the former MVP suffered hyperextended knee.

Wizards Defeated Warriors

The incident happened during the first couple of minutes of the game. The Warriors were playing defense against the Wizards and Zaza Pachulia, his own teammate, accidentally rams into Kevin Durant’s knee. The way Kevin Durant reacted when Zaza Pachulia hit his knee is not what the fans wanted to see. It is visible that Durant is grimacing from the pain. He tried to stand up and walk out but immediately went to the locker room accompanied by David West.

Kevin Durant Out For The Remainder Of The Regular Season

Durant was checked by their team physician as soon as he arrived at the locker room. At the same time, they announced that he won’t return to the game. Early reports state that Durant suffered a hyperextended knee and MRI is already scheduled. As tough as Kevin Durant is, nobody is safe when it comes to injuries. Golden State Warriors and their fans were stunned when they saw the injury that happened to Durant. Fans are now wondering about the current condition of Durant and their beloved team.

A second test was already checked on Kevin Durant and it was stated that he might miss the rest of the regular season. The timetable for his return was given which is 4 weeks. However, it would be wise for the Warriors management for him to have an extended rehabilitation as playoffs are just around the corner. Golden State already clinched the playoffs and getting him ready is their main priority.

Ex-Warrior Making A Comeback

With the setback that happened last night, Warriors made an immediate decision in signing the former Warrior, Matt Barnes. The versatile veteran who can play at both ends will be a great addition to the team while Durant is nursing his injury. A couple of days ago, they already have their mind set on signing Jose Calderon but with the Durant injury, getting Barnes is the best decision for the Warriors to make.
