iOS 7 Concept Shows Windows Phone 8 Inspired Flat Design And Widgets (Video)

Apple will be showing off a rumored, major redesigned iOS 7 at Apple's World Wide Developer's Conference in a few weeks. We first reported hearing rumblings of a flat and major redesigned iOS 7 back in March. It was then followed up with a more detailed version of the new flat interface being created by Apple design genius Jony Ive. A new concept video shows off what iOS 7 could possibly look and act like, complete with the new flat Windows Phone-inspired appearance and gestures.

A redesigned lock screen with the normal date and time, is shown to include the current forecast; a small, but nice touch, this feature can be found on a Jailbreak app for iOS called Forecast, in case you'd like to make this happen now.

We soon get to see what the rumored very flat redesign of iOS 7 will look like, when we get to see the home screen for the first time. iOS is expected to be a major upgrade, but it is rumored that Apple still wants to keep the look that millions of people are already familiar with and love, while also giving iOS 7 the major overhaul it really needs. iOS has remained mostly unchanged in terms of its UI, while rivals Android, Microsoft and BlackBerry have made over their operating systems.

The home screen icons are flat, and less shiny, as has been reported. Tapping applications such as the calendar have a new animation when opening. The calendar, for instance has a brand new look, which is another feature iOS 7 is expected to bring: updates to the UI of Apple apps.

We also get to see a redesigned iPod music player and interface, as well as a new camera app. The coolest feature is the introduction of widgets. The way the artist creates the widgets solves two highly desired features in iOS 7: easy access to settings and widgets. The artist shows off a a very inuitive way of swiping widgets across the screen, allowing you to access a range of information in a few short swipes. It's a very well thought out and designed iOS 7 concept video. Check it out below.
