Samsung Galaxy S4: Too Expensive For You? Check These Alternatives Out Instead

Is the Samsung Galaxy S4 price getting you down? Sure, it has its advantages and as "the next big thing" from a company that might be the biggest mobile manufacturer in the world, it might be difficult to do much bigger.

But we also live in a world of boundless choice and that's why you needn't fret about having to turn down the Samsung Galaxy S4 for one of these fine products — that won't quite break your bank — instead.

At most conventional brand stores, the Samsung Galaxy S4 will run you around $200. Here are a few products that can beat that:

Samsung Galaxy S3

The most obvious cheaper alternative to the Samsung Galaxy S4 is its immediate predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S3. We'll be looking ourselves into how the two phones actually differ, but for now, we can tell you that the S3 is a darn fine phone and that there are even plenty of reasons not to trade up if you've already got one. And at $50, the Galaxy S3 will definitely give you much of what you'd get from the Galaxy S4 for a quarter of the price. Not bad.

Nexus 4

The Nexus 4 from LG and Google might not have the same firepower as the Samsung Galaxy S4, but for the price ($100), you do get a pretty fantastic mid-range phone with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and an absolutely premium build. Thanks to the Nexus 4 being taken off some retailers' shelves quite recently — what with the Nexus 5 soon on the way, most likely — you can probably wait a little longer until the Nexus 4 is so cheap that not getting one would just be silly.

Nokia Lumia 920

Even with the Nokia Lumia 928 most likely on the way (for real?) soon, the Lumia 920 is still a veritable smorgasbord of terrific features and specs that make it a steal at half the price of a Samsung Galaxy S4. One of the great things about Nokia phones is that though you won't be able to get as many apps as an iOS or Android phone, you can get some pretty unique, exclusive ones and that can make all the difference. There's no question that if you're interested in a Windows-powered phone, this is the one to get.

BlackBerry Z10

We had a chance to play with a BlackBerry Z10 a few weeks ago and found it to be a nice device that can do just about everything you'd need from it. It has a singular keyboard and is certainly the best you can buy if you're into BlackBerry phones. Granted, the BlackBerry Z10 is the same price as the Samsung Galaxy S4, but it only just came out, too, and, hey, you can now get yourself a specialized Louis Vuitton case for it, so what do you think about that?

What are your thoughts on these devices mentioned as compared to the Samsung Galaxy S4? What did we leave out? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
