NBA News: Golden State Warriors, Trouble In Paradise?

There’s no secret that the Golden State Warriors are the heavy favorites to win the NBA Championship this year. No disrespect to the defending Champions Cleveland Cavaliers but when Warriors acquired Durant, it automatically spelled trouble for them.

Bay Area State Of Mind

Over the past three 3 years, the bay area and the NBA were astonished by how their team is taking the league by storm. When the Golden State Warriors acquired Steve Kerr as their coach, they turned from pretenders to contenders then eventually a champion. The Golden State Warriors also used a lineup that is trending right now. The small ball was introduced a few years ago but it wasn’t that successful due to the big men dominating the paint.

However, Steve Kerr was able to utilize it and their record speaks for itself. They were able to shatter some NBA records and one of them is best NBA regular season in history. Although it wasn’t enough as the eventual champions, Cleveland Cavaliers defeat them in their own game. This year, they’ve acquired the former MVP in Kevin Durant. It showed instantly that adding KD is a big plus to their star-studded team. The Golden State Warriors are number one in points per game, assist per game and field goal percentage.

The Case Of Kevin Durant

But an unexpected blow happened to the team. Kevin Durant suffered a hyperextended knee and will miss the rest of the regular season. Warriors management and their fans are still positive about it since he will be ready for playoffs by that time. The only problem is, they don’t know if they will have the same momentum that they have before. They signed the versatile veteran Matt Barnes to aid them in small forward position and clearly the impact shows.

Kevin Durant is the biggest puzzle in Golden State Warriors roster right now. He is the most efficient player in the NBA and surprisingly, he leveled up his defensive game. The Warriors have lost 2 of their last 3 games and even the splash brothers themselves are now shooting bricks.
