Injustice 2 continues to expand as three new characters are now added to the roster. Moreover, Netherealms has shared another cinematic trailer that reveals more about the underlying plot

Three Heroes Join The Fight In Injustice 2

According to GameSpot, Netherealm released a new trailer revealing the addition of Captain Cold, Green Arrow and Green Lantern. However, the clip showed off more of the story elements rather than the actual gameplay aside from that of Green Lantern. In line with this, the two-minute video is actually the second part of the Shattered Alliances series, which focuses on Batman gathering a team to take on Superman.

This time, Green Gladiator has chosen to side with the Dark Knight as opposed to his original affiliation with Superman in the first game, as per Screen Rant. Aside from him, it also seems like Batman will make some surprising allies like Harley Quinn who now seems to be close friends with Black Canary. The trailer ends with the Caped Crusader and Superman locked in a fierce battle that might ultimately depend on the fate of the world.

Current Cast Brings In Old And New Characters

The sequel will bring in some new and surprising story elements to the game as the studio has added a plethora of new characters. Previous characters include Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Batman, Superman, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Catwoman, Robin, Aquaman, The Flash, Cyborg and Deadshot. On the other hand, the current new cast includes Swamp Thing, Doctor Fate, Cheetah, Brainiac, Poison Ivy, Black Canary, Atrocious, Bane, Gorilla Grodd, Supergirl and Blue Beetle.

Its predecessor, Gods Among Us, was a successful title as fans praised the story along with its fun combat mechanics similar to the Mortal Kombat series. With this in mind, it only seems natural that both players and critics alike have high hopes for the upcoming sequel. With Netherealm keeping the finer details about the plot under wraps, it seems like fans of Injustice 2 should look forward to some major surprises.
