Volvo has been known to have high standards when it comes to safety. Because of this, the all-new XC60 just topped the charts at the Euro NCAP.
Crash Test Videos Prove the XC60's Superior Durability
With this, it has also been reported that Volvo had sent out a number of crash test videos that prove that it's one of the safest cars there is. According to Car Scoops, the Volvo XC60 has finally got a full redesign after nine long years without having featured any remarkable changes
The 2018 Volvo XC60 will feature similar physical attributes with those of the other Volvo vehicles, such as the Volvo S90, Volvo XC90 and the Volvo V90. Despite these massive changes and improvements, the 2018 Volvo XC60 will still feature the T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid powertrain.
This will be the one responsible in dispensing its strong 400 horsepower that perfectly matches the sweet 472 lb.-ft. of torque. Volvo says that the all-new XC90 will be capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/hr in just 5.3 seconds.
In the crash test video, the 2018 Volvo XC60 is shown to hit a wall, head first, while accelerating at 35 mph (56 kph). After the crash, the SUV still remained intact. Then there's another crash test video which featured another XC90 hitting another wall while cruising at 40 mph (64 kph).
Surprisingly, there were still no serious damages to the car's structure. SUVs are known to have a huge tendency to rollover due to its size.
Features Several Hi-tech Safety Features
But then again, Volvo removes this stereotype with the 2018 Volvo XC60 after proving it in one of its videos which showed the vehicle's belly structure. According to Sudbury, the 2018 Volvo XC60 has a lot of safety features tucked in its sleeves. These are Oncoming Lane Mitigation, Steer Assist and Pilot Assist, among the most usable ones.
For now, there is still no official information about its price. But car experts suggest that it will be around the $50,000 mark.
Reports suggest that the 2018 Volvo XC60 will be out in the Canadian market in Q4 2017.
