OnePlus 5 vs Apple iPhone 8: Which Is Worth The Wait?

OnePlus 5 may very well be the next unit that can compete with smartphone giants like Samsung and Apple. However, many have to debate when its official release date will be. Rumors circulating the internet, regarding the upcoming OnePlus device's release said until perhaps around May or June of this year. On the other note, Apple looks like it's going to go big for the new iPhone, with strong rumors that iPhone 8 will undergo big changes as it's the handset's 10th anniversary. Based on early speculations it seems the design, specs, and features are all set to for a major overhaul. Moreover, OnePlus is adopting the metal and glass design because it wants to introduce wireless charging. Supposed that the company wants to utilize the Qi wireless support, then it can give a tough competition to Apple's iPhone 8. Which smartphone is worth the wait after all?

The OnePlus 5

The OnePlus 5 is also said to feature a 5.5-inch dual-curved edge AMOLED display which will give users a clear video quality. The company also said that they are going to provide 4k display resolution screen which will support a type of High Definition quality video and this device will let users have 3D streaming videos which are designed with the latest 3D technology. The OnePlus 5 will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 with 6 GB of RAM. As for the cameras, reports claimed that the OnePlus 5 is all set to arrive with a 25MP shooter and a 12MP secondary lens at its rear and a massive of 4,000 mAh battery life. The model will have two versions supporting 64 GB ad 128 GB. OnePlus 5 is set to run the latest Android Nougat out of the box.

Apple iPhone 8

This year will be Apple's 10th anniversary iPhone year and the latest rumors claimed it could be one of the major updates to the device in a long period of time. It's very likely that the iPhone 8 will run iOS 11. According to a source, Apple is experimenting with a "glass sandwich design." A quad-core for the iPhone 8, with the chip, called the A11 or the A11 Fusion for the power and a 3GB or 4GB of RAM are also expected. Moreover, KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in a report that the iPhone 8 is expected to come with a "revolutionary" front-facing camera and infrared module capable of sensing 3D space. Apple fans all over the world will expect bigger, better, and curved displays. An all-glass design, a new embedded home button, and wireless charging are just some of the thrilling features Apple is reportedly working on for the upcoming iPhone 8.

The Verdict

The price plays a major factor in buying a smartphone and one thing we know for sure is that the iPhone 8 will be way too expensive than the OnePlus 5. Apple's iPhone lineup is arguably the most in-demand smartphone series in the world and is most likely to be packed with the latest technology features and high-end components.  However, OnePlus 5 proves to be the better choice as you will not get any type of this powerful smartphone with a reasonable price.
