Matrix Incarnation: Warner Bros. To Relaunch 90s Sci-Fi Classic

According to reports, Warner Bros. is currently in the early stages of bringing back the millennial sci-fi film, "The Matrix". It is not yet clear, though, what the story of the new "Matrix" will be, but as per The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. is in the process of developing a relaunch of "The Matrix", with Zak Penn creating the next script.

"The Matrix" Reboot

Fans expressed their excitement on "The Matrix" reboot. However, expectations are starting to pile up, as fans reminisce the scenes from the original Matrix movie in 1999.

Warner Bros. is hoping to capture the interest of the audience, once again, by creating an interesting story beyond its three pioneering films. This is being done in the probing phase of the studio. It is also unclear whether the Wachowskis or the original cast will be involved in the film again. Right now, the studio is thinking of the best way to bring back the hit sci-fi movie.

Keanu Reaction On "Matrix" Reboot

In an interview with Yahoo last February, Keanu Reeves said that he would be interested to be involved in another "Matrix" film "if" the original directors were to return as well. "They would have to write it and direct it. And then we'd see what the story is, but yes, I don't know, that would be weird, but why not?" Keanu Reeves stated.

When the first installment of "The Matrix" was released, it acquired numerous positive reviews and feedbacks from its viewers. It currently sits as the 17th best film of all time on IMDb and has won four Oscars - all in honor of the film's trailblazing sound and special effects.

Although the other two installments (The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions) were not as popular as the first movie, the two sequels still grossed over $US1.6 billion worldwide.
