Asus Strix GeForce GTX 1080 Ti: Specs, Features, Price And Release Date

Just a few days ago, ASUS has revealed two graphics cards which are based on the new flagship chip GP102 from NVIDIA. The ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti has meanwhile been outlined with pictures. Asus hasn't officially introduced the card yet but is expected to be made official sooner.

ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti: Specs And Features

The card will arrive with a boost clock of 1683 MHz in gaming mode, which will go up to 1708 MHz in OC mode. In addition to the boost clock. The ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti comes factory-overclocked to 1594MHz/1708MHz Core/Boost clocks.  On the other note, GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition works at 1480MHz/1582MHz Core/Boost frequencies. This is a decent factory OC, yet not completely over the top, according to a source. On the connector side, the new Asus ROG Strix GTX 1080 Ti OC needs two 8-pin PCIe power connectors and uses more standard DVI, two HDMI ports and two DisplayPort outputs, which should work perfectly with VR headsets, something that was missing from the GTX 1080 Ti FE.

Moreover, ASUS components have been packed with an armada of LEDs for RGB lighting, this kind of card comes with RGB LEDs on both sides. In order to keep the GPU well cooled, Asus has further improved its triple-fan cooler by using the new heatsink with MaxContact technology. The heatsink brings 40 percent more heat dissipation area and should be up to 30 percent cooler and three times quieter than previous designs. Sadly, the new cooler also needs three slots. The heatsink comes with six heat pipes that are no longer in direct contact with the GPU but using a special copper heat spreader that should allow up to 2x more contact with the GPU as well as new Wing-Blade 0dB fans with IP5X-certifications. Display outputs on the card include 2x HDMI 2.0, 1x dual-link DVI-D, and 2x DisplayPort 1.4. In terms of dimensions, the card will measure 29.8 x 13.4 x 5.25cm.
