2018 Buick Regal To Officially Launch On April 4

General Motors (GM) has confirmed it is launching the new 2018 Buick Regal on April 4. The latest addition to GM's auto lineup will be unveiled at GM Technical Center in Detroit, just a week before it will feature at the New York International Auto Show. Having been in development for several years, the new Buick Regal wagon is expected to replace the sedan this time around.

The Buick Regal TourX specs and comparison to Opel Insignia

It is anticipated the new 2018 Buick Regal will come up under the brand name TourX to make Buick Regal TourX. To this extent, it has been found to look similar to the Opel Insignia Sports Tourer wagon in many respects. Its grille, badge, fenders and sideskirts all look like an expansion or the Opel Insignia, or to have been inspired by the same, Auto Blog notes.

GM has filed for emissions certification from the California Air Resources Board, and submitted documents indicate the Buick Regal TourX will be 4-wheel drive with a 2.0-liter engine, Auto News writes. To this extent, the car might feature a 2.0-liter LTG engine that is turbocharged with four cylinders. This compares with that of the 2017 Opel Insignia Grand Sport and the 3.6-liter LGX V6 engine of the Holden, not the mention the 2018 Commodore.

Buick Regal may be built in Germany and then shipped to the US

New car hunters and auto photographers have captured the Buick Regal testing in both Germany and the US. This development is against the background that the car may be built in Germany and shipped for sales in the United States. Car enthusiasts also believe unveiling the Buick Regal will open the doors for other Regal variants to enter the market as time goes on, according to GMAuthority.

There are lots of buzz and speculations for the new Buick Regal TourX at the moment, but its manufacturer have promised to attend to all questions related to its make on the day it is unveiled a few weeks from now.
