'Game Of Thrones' S7 To Feature Most Expensive Death Scene?

Just recently, the "Game of Thrones" producers have just decided to unveil the most expensive death scene in the series. Producers revealed that it was the brutal killing Meryn Trant (Ian Beattie) by Arya Stark.

Maisey William's Eye Poking Scene

Despite it being very brutal, it was one of the most straightforward murders in the series, which also makes it the most expensive one. According to NME, Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) slits Meryn Trant's throat and gouges out the poor man's eyes with her bare hands.

It was indeed one of the goriest scenes in the entire series. Because of this, Radio Times curiously asked the producers during the SXSW panel as to why that specific one was the most expensive one to shoot.

The Reason For The High Cost

David Benioff, the showrunner of the series, hastily replied that it was because Maisie couldn't really poke out his eyes in reality. More effort was indeed needed to successfully shoot the scene, as it requires more prosthetics and CGI effects. This is way different from the usual death by a sword that most deaths in "Game of Thrones" had. Meanwhile, the executive producers of the show also shared how Kit Harington pranked them during one of their filming days.

They then say that the cast, as well as the crew, had fallen for the prank, which is why the lawyers in HBO were also involved. It was indeed one of the most realistic pranks ever made, making them really disturbed.

In other news, Ed Sheeran is also confirmed to have his own cameo appearance in "Game of Thrones" Season 7. However, it is still unknown as to what kind of character will Sheeran be portraying.

According to Time, the seventh season of "Game of Thrones" will be returning to the small screen on July 16, 2017.
