Final Fantasy XV Update: Game Director Weighs In On Future Ardyn DLC

Final Fantasy XV game director Hajime Tabata has shared his thoughts on releasing an Ardyn downloadable content (DLC) in the future. This would provide players with a proper explanation on his side of the overall narrative and further expand the reason behind his motives.

Hajime Tabata Comments On A Final Fantasy XV Ardyn DLC

Redditor Boronkee recently shared an Italian website that recently held an interview with Tabata as he traveled to the locality to get the Italian prize for the "Best Game of the year." There, he answered a few questions about the game and the future content they plan to bring. In line with this, he also explained their plans after the three episodic side stories involving Gladio, Prompto and Ignis.

He explained that nothing in the game has been cut at the story but admitted that there are a few elements that were not included in the game. Instead, they plan to introduce these scenarios as add-ons. Since the main game told the overall narrative from Noctis' perspective, they are adding new stories revealing the side of his friends. Following this, he hopes to make a side story from Ardyn's point of view.

The Hidden Layers Behind The Character

YouTuber Final Fantasy Peasant claimed that Ardyn actually has a much deeper role than the main narrative reveals. While one might even argue that his part was a bit lackluster, taking a deeper look into the world of Eos actually shows that he has a large part in the overarching plot. Moreover, the main antagonist might not actually be as villainous as the game makes him out to be.

There have been plenty of theories justifying the actions that Ardyn have taken over the course of the story. In line with this, he might have actually been trying to save the world instead of destroying it. With a possible Final Fantasy XV Ardyn DLC coming soon, this will be the perfect way to show players all the layers behind the character.
